Changing Families Group
For kids ages 7-11
One of the main concerns of making the decision to separate and divorce is how it will impact your children’s life. You may be persuaded to enter family therapy as an opportunity to help your child through the process. While this support is necessary, it may not be enough. Your changing family places a demand on your child’s emotional skills that may not yet be developed. Children simply do not posses the language needed to properly express and you may see a variety of new behaviors emerge.
Join Rebecca McDermott, LMFT at The Center for Family Empowerment for an 8-week course designed to give your child access to new skills to manage your divorce. Children will be in a supportive, non-judgmental setting with other kids in changing families. The group is a safe place for your child to talk about how they are feeling, learn new coping skills, and begin to integrate the divorce in their life.
Who: Group is designed for boys and girls ages 7-11.
Where: The Center for Family Empowerment
Tuition: $325 for the 8-week course. Tuition also includes a parent session for tips on managing behaviors, at home conversations, and co-parenting support.
