1. Does The Center for Family Empowerment (CFE) accept insurance?

CFE is out of network with insurance companies. This means that our work together is determined solely by the client and not by insurance regulations. We are incredibly passionate about your privacy and want to be able to offer the most effective, compassionate, personalized treatment possible. This mission often conflicts with what insurance companies require and we feel our mission is best met working with our clients directly. This means that our work with our clients is not determined by what an insurance company feels is appropriate. Instead, our clients are the ones to determine what they would like to work on and for how long they would like to participate in therapy.

That being said, we are happy to work with your insurance as an Out Of Network Provider if you so choose. Most of our clients who submit to Out of Network Benefits get reimbursed a percentage of counseling fees. The details of this are dependent upon your insurance plan. CFE can issue you a monthly receipt (called a Superbill) that you can submit to insurance.

2. How can I submit to Out of Network Benefits?

To find out how your mental health benefits work, simply call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. You will want to ask the following questions:

  1. What are my out of network benefits for outpatient mental health services?

  2. How much is my deductible, and how much will you reimburse me once the deductible has been met?

  3. What information do you require on the Superbill in order to process as out of network?

  4. Where do I send the Superbills?

3. Payment

CFE accepts cash, credit cards, and check (made out to The Center for Family Empowerment). We also accept HSA cards and FLEX Spending if you have either of those through your insurance company.

4. Cancellation Policy

It is important that you regularly attend your scheduled appointments. When there are missed sessions, it can cause a lapse in our work which may result in delayed progress. I understand that there may be extenuating circumstances and I can certainly make exceptions for them, but please understand that your appointment time is reserved for you and our work together. For these reasons, I request 24 hours notice for cancelled appointments in order to avoid a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee for less than 24 hours notice is the full cost of the session.
