Teens Empowered
A Gender-Inclusive Therapy Group Helping Teens Build Confidence, Navigate Relationships, and Strengthen Emotional Well-Being in Jenkintown, PA and Wellesley, MA
Helping Teens Feel More Confident, Connected, and Empowered
Being a teenager can be complicated.
Teens are navigating friendships, school, social media, relationships, identity, increasing independence, and the pressure to figure out who they are—all while learning how to manage emotions and cope with life's challenges.
Teens Empowered is a gender-inclusive therapy group where teens can connect with peers, develop practical emotional and interpersonal skills, and build confidence in a supportive, clinician-led environment.
The group welcomes teens of all genders and identities and provides a space where participants can be themselves, explore challenges openly, and connect with others who may be navigating similar experiences.
Who Is Teens Empowered For?
Teens Empowered may be a good fit for teens who are experiencing:
• Low self-esteem or self-confidence • Friendship or relationship challenges • Social anxiety or fear of judgment
• People-pleasing or difficulty setting boundaries • Negative self-talk • Perfectionism • Difficulty managing intense emotions
• Social comparison • Academic or social pressure • Difficulty communicating their needs • Uncertainty around identity or belonging
• Stress related to social media and peer relationships • Difficulty navigating increasing independence
You May Notice Your Teen:
• Worrying about what other people think of them • Becoming overwhelmed by friendship or relationship conflict • Comparing themselves to peers or people online • Having difficulty standing up for themselves or saying no • Becoming increasingly self-critical or insecure
• Struggling to balance friendships, school, family, and other responsibilities
• Having difficulty expressing what she needs or how she's feeling
Does this sound familiar?
Your teen may seem confident on the outside while privately struggling with self-doubt, pressure, or uncertainty. They may feel like everyone else has it figured out while she's still trying to understand themselves.
They’re not alone. Group therapy provides an opportunity to connect with other teens navigating many of the same experiences while developing skills to manage the challenges of adolescence.
What Teens Will Work On
Depending on the needs of the group, participants may work on:
• Building confidence and self-esteem • Navigating friendships and relationships • Communication and social skills • Developing a stronger sense of identity • Setting healthy boundaries • Communication and assertiveness • Managing difficult emotions • Coping with stress and pressure • Challenging negative self-talk • Managing perfectionism • Navigating comparison and social media • Developing healthy coping strategies • Practicing self-advocacy • Building healthy relationships
The goal isn't to tell teen who they should be.
It's to help them feel more confident, capable, and comfortable being themselves.
Why Group Therapy?
Sometimes the most powerful thing a teen can hear is: "I feel that way too."
Teens Empowered gives participants an opportunity to talk openly, practice skills, receive supportive feedback, and connect with peers who understand the challenges of growing up. The group provides a space to practice communication, navigate differences, build relationships, and develop confidence with the guidance of an experienced clinician.
These skills can extend beyond the group into friendships, school, family relationships, and everyday life.
A Space Where Teens Can Be Themselves
Teenagers are constantly receiving messages about who they should be, how they should look, how they should act, and what they should achieve.
Teens Empowered provides a space where participants don't have to fit a particular mold. Our clinicians create an environment that is respectful, inclusive, and supportive of different identities, personalities, experiences, and perspectives.
Teens are encouraged to participate, share, and engage in ways that feel comfortable while learning how to communicate their needs and advocate for themselves.
What Parents Can Expect
Before joining Teens Empowered, we'll learn more about your teen and help determine whether the group is a good fit based on her age, developmental needs, personality, current concerns, and readiness for a group environment.
Groups are clinician-led and include therapeutic discussion, activities, and skill-building. Because teens are developing greater independence, we also respect their growing need for privacy and autonomy while keeping parents appropriately involved in the therapeutic process.
Depending on the group, parents may receive resources or recommendations for supporting skills at home.
